Hello,
My latest project is complete, and on view at OSL.
I am looking forward to paying you monies to host my website (another project, getting closer to being on deck), if that is still an option.
Talk soon + the best in handmade creations,

i think preparing for grand opening + management duties didn't leave much left for being imaginative, and the best way to conserve energy is to trim its expenditure. (but still ...)

That sounds interesting and I would love to go with you, I am putting it in my book.
There is a free screening of a great film, Blue Gold, at the Think Tank on Friday night at 7pm, I was going to put a notice on the board on the 2nd floor about it. The movie is good if you haven't seen it before, it is about water rights. I also like the idea of shared office space like think tank. Just F.Y.I. in case you want to check that out!

Angela,
I think so far the people I have met with the most interest would be Denis, my next door neighbor who was at the last building meeting, Ingrid, Rebecca, Dominic, Ted on 4th floor - maybe?, and perhaps Tressa (spelling?), on the 4th floor, the painter who has her stuff in the work room, otherwise I am not sure that Richard, Ray, Ted, Cissy on the second floor would be interested. Donita on the second floor has artistic stuff she does but I am not sure how involved she wants to get. My other neighbor Melisssa is the other semptress in the room but hasn't been to a meeting yet, and some of the other folks on my floor are a mystery to me. I try to introduce myself to everyone as I see them. Oh, Josh on your floor, tall younger guy, he might be interested...
Thanks for including me again,

hello,
i thought maybe i should see if you were home.
chris hughes, dj that lives across from me came, and he was in the lobby, so i waited...
ben came, and we talked. it was productive. explored ideas involving music and using the gallery as a venue like watching movies.
... ask avesta for a projector and screen.
it was about being involved in the community. facebook. (we are listed as a homeless shelter so far (?)
"me-shell", new girl on the 4th floor made an appearance. she works at the museum and is a meca graduate in ceramics. she can speak the art lingo and curating is not foreign to her.
just trying to make it bigger and better, one step at a time.
there is still time, by the way !
june 14th at 9am is the next council meeting.
greg payne, who spoke at the grand opening, will be there. ben suggested i make a bulletin point of topics we discussed today, to discuss in the meeting.
he said to present our ideas as something we are working on, and not as more work for avesta.
he is helpful like that :)

How about this? Simple. One agreement through the terms of the lease. Everyone should be happy. Thoughts?
Oak Street Lofts
Lease Amendment
Resident Hallway Personal Exhibit Space
Providing the opportunity of residents to personalize the identity of their unit entrance is a recognized component of successful Artist Rental Housing. It is also recognized that the hallways are not private space but rather semi-private space that will be shared with other residents and visitors of Oak Street Lofts. Therefore, information or pieces displayed in the Resident Hallway Personal Exhibit Space shall not be discriminatory or offensive to individuals who share the space. The portion of the hallway walls directly adjacent to the resident’s unit entry are designated spaces for the residents to exhibit their personal art work. Please read and submit this agreement in order to display your work in the hallways. Unless further amended, this agreement shall remain in force throughout the full term of the agreement and, if the terms of this agreement are honored, there is no need to execute future agreements when modifications to the exhibit materials are made by the resident.
I agree that any artwork I choose to display in the hallways is not a lease violation and will not intentionally contain any language/design/meaning/etc. that may be considered discriminatory or offensive against any individual(s) based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status and handicap (disability). It is recognized that what may be considered discriminatory or offensive is subject and may vary with different individuals and that determining what is acceptable may require communications between affected parties.
I also agree that no alterations may be made to the hallway (walls, floors, etc). No artwork can block resident’s ability to move safely through the hallway. Labels that do not remove wall paint are allowed. Money exchange is not permitted in the hallways.
Please email or call your Resident Services Coordinator or Property Manager to let them know you are displaying new artwork. All installations will be initially reviewed by Avesta Housing staff and may be re-reviewed of a complaint of discrimination or offensive content is received. The resident will be contacted to discuss the installation if the installation is considered potentially in violation of this agreement to modifications to or removal of the installation so as to be in compliance with this agreement.
Art Exhibitors will display their art at their own risk. Avesta Housing is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged art.
The undersigned applicant acknowledges and agrees to be bound by all of the above conditions and responsibilities of displaying art in the hallways. .

Hi Megan-
All the garage spaces are taken…we have a waiting list going that people can add their names to. Off-site parking is available at our office parking lot. This is overnight parking from 5pm to 8am weekdays, and then 24 hours per day on holidays and weekends. A parking permit is required for all parking. They cannot park in the lot on Cumberland/Forest.
In terms of someone parking in her spot in the garage, she can call or email me and I will come over to try to identify whose car is it. I would leave a towing warning note on the unauthorized parker.

Parking question: When and where can residents park at OSL? Angela wants to put it in the newsletter and I want to be sure I have all of the correct information…can they use the lot by the YMCA?
The reason this came up was because someone was parked in her spot. Which leads me to my next question: Are there actions we take when individuals are parking in tenants spots?

Thanks. Happy to work with you when the time comes --- this shouldn’t have to be a big deal that takes up a lot of time to put together. I can envision a paragraph or two followed by a bunch of bullet points…
Completely different topic… next time you have a resident council meeting, could you let me know so I can come? I’d like to just introduce myself as the person who developed the project and hear comments, good or bad, that they might have around design, etc. Helpful input as I work on future projects. Also kind of neat to be able to meet the real people occupying the apartments after 3 years of working to get it built!

Hi there – I just realized that while Barb Soloway was well aware of the requirement by the City that we provide a report on parking demand at Oak Street Lofts six months after occupancy (and every year thereafter), I don’t know that the two of you are. The reference is on page 2, #4 of the attached approval from the City. My interpretation is that the 6-month clock should start ticking as of initial FULL occupancy (i.e., June 1), so the report would not need to be generated until December 1 of the this year… but I wanted to make sure you had this on your radar so you could be keeping track of things like usage, traffic patterns, etc. as laid out on page 2 of the attached. I’m happy to chat more about this at any point if you’d like --- thanks!

Hi Angela,
Thanks for the photo's. I actually look cute in a couple of them if I must say so myself. Your camera makes me look beefier than in real life. I love it! I have to figure out how to get them onto my facebook account.
It was fun hanging out and meeting our neigbors.

Hi,
Great photo! I guess it turned out to be stronger than I thought. The photo was a big hit at Rockler's. They put a copy of It up on the Bulletin board. We saved it I our file for inclusion on my website.
I'm very proud of the work you did on the table. Congratulations.
See you next week.

Hello,
Next week, I have Tuesday and Thursday off, and go to work on Friday from 430pm-12, then I have requested time off thru the 18th.
Let me know when you would like me to meet with you and Linda to discuss the B&B and care for your place.
Great feedback on the table. Right from the start, people were delighted and really love it, and can't believe it is my first project. Thanks for making it Great!
I look forward to the second revision, also to understand the time- cost relationship to manufacture, as I have had some conversational inquiries.
See you soon,
Angela

Hi,
I have Tues. and Wed. off. Linda has Thurs off so that might be a good time to come up, since we leave early Friday.
I sent the photo of you and the table to my teacher at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship,
Peter Korn. Just a little bragging on my part. We' ll have to take a trip over there sometime to see the gallery and the workshops.

Awesome! Did Andy make that? Very cool!
I have some news - I got hired as the Head Nordic Coach at Gould
Academy (in Bethel, ME) which is like a huge opportunity for me - I'm
starting on July 1 (don't have to be there until school starts
though!)
I'm a little bit uncertain about the future of customskities.com... it
takes a lot of time for me to do which I'm thinking I probably won't
have up there - and also you're IRREPLACEABLE - but the distance would
make it not very economical to continue the way we did things last
winter. And just thinking out loud here - I did consider having you
to EVERYTHING except the order processing - but with all the work of
making screens, cutting foam and velcro, printing, and the associated
equipment and space required - it's really a lot and honestly I know
the sewing pays off for you, but I'm not even sure that I make minimum
wage when I'm doing the rest of it... so I'm thinking I wouldn't want
to put that on you.
Thoughts?
In the mean time - this summer - George Normandin at Sports Page wants
to put in a giant order for those red straps. Do you have time to do
some sewing? Probably wouldn't be for a few weeks - until I get all
the stuff in and print it up.

Hello,
I made the table! my design!
Yes, I have time for the red strap order. Let me know when. Not a whole lot planned this Summer except work at TJ and then work on my art/projects, usually paced by my income and time allowed.
Maybe the ski ties is something you can do in segmented time allotments, like orders placed in Summer or when you have time free from school. You'll know best if the roi (return on investment) is worth it to you.
This is a very exciting career move, so congratulations! And, I can understand the necessity to prioritize your energy, perhaps with single-mindedness.
I received the last components to start a proto then manufacturing my wee bags with custom ribbon. I may hit you up to borrow your heat cutter, once I finalize the design...
From June 8-18th, I get to work at a B&B near Damariscotta and work in the wood shop. I will be in Portland occasionally to get supplies, and water plants, at the very least. While there, I get to collect eggs from chicken butts! I have to say, I made an egg salad sandwich, with said eggs, and it is slightly weird to know the chicken that laid the egg that you are eating.
There will also be yearling sheep to watch mowing the grass. They do a pretty good job, I am told, however, no free-wheeling romps thru the country side, bare foot.
Glad to hear things are going well!
